Ruins of Crags Hotel
Over the weekend, the boys and I hiked to the ruins of Crags Hotel which burned down in 1912. This site can be reached from the Rattlesnake Gulch Trail in Eldorado State Park just south of Boulder. After climbing 1200 feet, it's amazing to me that they could even build a resort up there. The path is about three feet wide and rocky. See my other blog for a picture of more of the ruins, specifically broken china and glass.

Longest Bridge
This is the crossing of Cherry Creek just upstream of the Castlewood Dam. The boys have been doing some great hiking already this year. They seem to have started up the season at four miles sans complaint. Maybe we could get up to six by the end of the summer. They still have a rather staccato walking pace -- run then stop at a bug, run then stop at a flower, run then flirt with coeds.
