At DCS Montessori, the kids have a special celebration on their birthday. A candle is set up to represent the sun with signs set around indicating the months. The birthday child holds a globe and circles the sun. With each circling of the globe, the teacher, shows the class a picture of the birthday child during that year of their life. Some kids are really embarrassed by all the attention. Not my boys.
The night before his celebration, I stayed up late going through all my old pictures of Rowan. It's really amazing how much he has changed and how fast it has all happened.

Rachel,
I'm a writer-friend of Wayne Allen Sallee's. He's spoken well of you and I decided to stop by your site. I noticed that, like mine, your blog didn't have any comments and decided to amend the situation.
I blog at: http://blufftoninthedriftless.blogspot.com/.
All the best,
Larry Santoro
Thanks Larry! Actually since this is the family blog, I don't really promote it except occassionally. The main readers I think are my family and they are notorious lurkers. (HI EVERYONE!)
I was getting bummed by the lack of comments on my main public-ish blog, so I made all sorts of political and religious opinions known hoping for a wave of at the very least obnoxious comebacks. Alas. ;)
